We are proud that our school is a place where children love learning and strive to achieve academically in a well-rounded and inspiring curriculum, based on our school learning dispositions. There are opportunities for children to think and go beyond the traditional curriculum everyday through Aspiring Minds – our speaker and academic enrichment programme. This rich curriculum, from Mathematics to Photography, gives children the opportunity to combine the rigour of traditional subjects with the practical skills and tech confidence they will need for the modern world. Outside the classroom, our children can ‘find their thing’ through a wide range of activities, from sport and the performing arts in our Bear pits to music from rock to classical, model UN and Dungeons & Dragon’s Club. Learning looked a little different for our Sixth Formers on Friday.
Our students took on a new role for the day, visiting NBH Nursery & Pre-Prep to design and deliver their very own workshops for Year 1 and 2 - and they did a brilliant job!
As part of their Leadership Project,... they worked in groups to plan, organise, and run 30-minute sessions, from sport and music to art and problem-solving, each delivered twice for different year groups. They took full responsibility for the sessions, demonstrating communication, confidence and creativity throughout.
The result?
An afternoon of thoughtful planning, teamwork and collaboration - and a glimpse of what purposeful leadership looks like in action.

Reflecting on an incredible day at TEDxAlleyn’s School Youth 2025, where our Head of Nursery and Pre-Prep, Sarah Cartwright-Styles, took to the stage to deliver her talk, “From Classrooms to Operations Rooms.”
In her engaging speech, Sarah explored the unexpected connection between ...her two worlds - nurturing young learners and commanding submarines as a submarine controller in the Royal Navy Reserves. At first glance, classrooms and operations rooms may seem worlds apart, but as Sarah shared, both are grounded in the same truth:
👉 Leadership isn’t about control - it’s about trust, humility, and connection.
Through stories of kindness, teamwork, and calm leadership under pressure, Sarah highlighted how the values that shape great teachers are the same that define great leaders - in every environment.
Our Year 11 and 12 students were also there to experience the day, listening to a range of thought-provoking talks from both teachers and pupils, and leaving with new perspectives on leadership and learning. Thank you for having us @alleynsschool.

Our Year 12s are the first to experience Alleyn’s Hampstead Sixth Form - the first step in our journey as we transition to Alleyn’s Hampstead, ahead of our full opening in September 2026.
They’ve hit the ground running exploring A-Levels including Economics, Politics, and ...Psychology, developing key study skills in a Time Management workshop with Elevate Education, and staying active with Padel in P.E. Last week, they even kayaked down Regent’s Canal, enjoying teamwork, fresh air, and a sunny September afternoon!
At Alleyn’s Hampstead Sixth Form, students’ interests and goals are always at the forefront. Life here isn’t just about lessons, it’s about growing and having the freedom to explore your passions.
